Each state is different, but in Georgia you start by submitting a Declaration of Intent (DOI). This simply informs the state that you will be homeschooling. Georgia’s rules for homeschooling can be found HERE. You are required to teach Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Georgia also requires standardized testing once every three years, beginning in 3rd grade.There are plenty to choose from - my top pick can be found HERE. Now that you know the basics, it’s time for the fun part - choosing curriculum!

Georgia says we are to teach the equivalent of 4.5 hours a day for 180 days. Lucky for homeschoolers, we know that learning is found in so many everyday experiences! We don't sit at a table for 4.5 hours - we learn whenever and wherever we are!
